May 09 2009Do you get excited for the unexpected victories in life? I do. I had several tasks to complete these last two days. One was trying to figure out why my dishwasher didn't drain completely after a wash. So I googled it. I love google. One step was to make sure the drain line was not stopped up. Before I read that I had actually removed the drain line from the sink drain and used my air compressor to force air in the hose and remove any obstacles. Didn't work. Maybe I did a poor job of it. So, I start looking for the workings of the dishwasher and find the hose connected below the pump. Guess what happens when you unhook that end? Water comes out!! Remember it is still in the dishwasher. I tried to divert it but finally just let it out so I could take a look. Good thing we had a pile of towels ready to be washed. I cleaned up my mess and took a look at the drain pipe. There was a popcorn kernal in there blocking it up. How bad is that???? I cleared the obstacle, put everything back together and ran a quick rinse with the dishwasher and Voila it drained. Wow, I thought we were going to have to buy a new dishwasher. That was my unexpected victory today.
